Save the Date: Third Cycle of FETP Accreditation Starts the Week of January 8, 2018

TEPHINET is nearing the completion of its second cycle of the Accreditation of Field Epidemiology Training Programs (FETPs), and we invite you to reflect with us on the successes and challenges of this collective effort to improve the quality of field epidemiology training and value of public health services. Accreditation is an opportunity for field epidemiology training programs to align with common standards that support quality training and increase recognition of the value of FETPs to support country public health priorities. It is with the contributions of our network of program directors, program technical staff, graduates, residents, CDC, WHO, and countless international partners that this effort has yielded extraordinary results.

As in the previous cycles, we again encourage interested programs to use the Accreditation Readiness Assessment (see below) as a diagnostic tool to determine the work ahead in getting your program aligned with TEPHINET’s Accreditation Indicators and Standards and also to determine the appropriate cycle for which to submit your program’s application for accreditation.

Please be advised that the official accreditation cycle opening announcement will be made the week of January 8, 2018. The FETP Accreditation Letters of Intent (LOIs) will be received and reviewed until March 30, 2018. Programs whose LOIs are accepted will be invited to submit an Accreditation Application; these applications will be reviewed through June 29, 2018.
