Dear TEPHINET Community,
Given the critical roles of our conference planning partners, speakers, oral and poster presenters, and other delegates in fighting the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, as well as travel restrictions and considerations of our partners’ health and safety, we inform you of the following updates to our upcoming conference schedule:
- The 11th TEPHINET Regional Scientific Conference of the Americas (to be held in Brazil) will be postponed until August 2021. This conference was originally planned for August 17-21, 2020.
- The 10th Southeast Asia and Western Pacific Bi-regional TEPHINET Scientific Conference, planned for November 9-13, 2020 in Taipei, is still planned to move forward. The conference organizers are closely monitoring the COVID-19 situation and will consult with program directors in the Southeast Asia and Western Pacific regions for any adjustments or changes in the timelines for activities related to this conference. We will update you on any changes as soon as possible.
- The 11th TEPHINET Global Scientific Conference will be postponed to 2022. This conference was originally planned for 2021 (the exact dates and location were not yet determined).
TEPHINET is exploring the possibility of virtual presentation sessions sometime this year for Field Epidemiology Training Program (FETP) trainees, but no details have been confirmed. Should any such opportunities arise, we will update you as soon as possible.
