Announcing the Winners of the TEPHINET COVID-19 Response Video Contest
Since the very beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, FETP workers have been actively involved on the front lines in combating this unprecedented public health threat. TEPHINET held a video contest to tell the stories and to raise awareness of the important work of FETPs. This contest was created to give FETP trainees and alumni an opportunity to share their stories, impact, and the challenges they have had to overcome while responding to this global pandemic.
Entrants were asked to submit one video, up to five minutes in length, in any language. A panel of judges from TEPHINET evaluated each submission on the quality of its narrative (does the video tell a clear, compelling story?), visual and audio quality, and overall creativity.
TEPHINET thanks everyone who participated in the video contest. We were very impressed by all of the submissions and by the critical work that the participants are doing to prevent the spread of COVID-19. After a long deliberation, the judges have selected the top three winners as follows:
"A Couple's Learning from COVID-19: Bangladesh"
FETP Bangladesh fellows Dr. Farsim and Dr. Salehin are a married couple. Both are working on containment of the ongoing the COVID-19 pandemic. In this video, they describe their work and its impact on their family.
"Video FETP: Colombia"
COVID-19 has devastated indigenous communities in South America. This video highlights the actions of FETP Colombia to protect communities in the country's Amazon region.
"Philippines DOHMMCHD RESU Fight Against COVID-19"
Led by an alumnus of the sixteenth cohort of FETP Philippines, the Regional Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit (RESU) of the Department of Health - Metro Manila Center for Health Development (DOHMMCHD) addresses the COVID-19 situation in metropolitan Manila. This video presents an overview of RESU's work.
