Antimicrobial Resistance Detection and Prevention in West Africa Regional Hubs

Project objective: To support the CDC’s International Infection Control Program (IICP) as it aims to slow the development of new antibiotic resistance, prevent the resistance that already exists from spreading, and promote safety and quality in healthcare delivery systems and patient care; to identify critical antimicrobial-resistant pathogens in francophone West Africa (Senegal) and anglophone West Africa (Nigeria) through improved detection and reporting of novel drug-resistant genotypes.
