Elena Atkinson, M.Sc
In her role as Project Coordinator, Elena Atkinson supports TEPHINET's knowledge exchange, community learning, scientific communication, and conference activities. She holds a Bachelor of Art in International Studies with a minor in economics from American University in Washington, DC, and a master's in health sciences with a focus on epidemiology from the Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico in Mexico City.
As an epidemiologist with a global policy focus, Ms. Atkinson has worked as a public health policy analyst for a think tank in Mexico City and a consultant for numerous research organizations in the Americas. After seeing the challenges that early career researchers face with academic writing and publishing articles in scientific journals, she founded a consulting firm to address this need. She is especially passionate about implementing international efforts dedicated to empowering and training early career researchers on how to write and successfully publish their academic articles. In her free time, she loves to travel, learn languages, dance, read, and cook.
