Global Non-communicable Disease Activities

Project Objective

TEPHINET, in partnership with CDC, is working to improve the prevention and control of non-communicable diseases (NCDs). This project is to support the Global NCD Branch (GNCDB) efforts to improve the prevention and control of NCDs through surveillance, capacity building and evidence generation. This includes working with partners to strengthen the evidence base of cardiovascular disease and its risk factors with a particular focus on hypertension through the Global Hearts Initiative. Building the economic base through investment cases and economic impact of hypertension management supports promotion and awareness of the global burden. Through these resources, TEPHINET will strengthen NCD evidence generation through the Economic Research Network and Global Hearts Initiative, partnering with health ministries and FETP residents whose work has an NCD focus as applicable.
