
Hala Bahaa Eldin
Coordinator Assistant, Egypt Field Epidemiology Training Program
Dr. Hala Bahaa Eldin has served, since 2017, as the coordinator assistant of Egypt's Field Epidemiology Training Program (FETP), under the supervision of the Department of Epidemiology and Surveillance at the Egyptian Ministry of Health and Population. She graduated with an undergraduate degree from the Faculty of Pharmacy at Alexandria University in Egypt.
After graduation, Dr. Bahaa received a master's degree in quality management, a professional diploma in medical biostatistics from Ain Shams University, and a professional diploma in healthcare management from the American University in Cairo. She completed the Egyptian Field Epidemiology Training Program (FETP) in 2017 and Egypt Clinical Scholars Research Training (CSRT) from Harvard Medical School in 2021.
She began her work serving the preventive sector at the Ministry of Health and Population and currently is focused on working with epidemiology and surveillance investigators on newly emerging diseases. Dr. Bahaa was involved in monitoring and evaluating an infectious disease surveillance system established with collaboration of the Egyptian Ministry of Health and Population and NAMRU-3. She participated in launching and implementing the basic level of FETP in Egypt (Public Health Empowerment Program- Basic Field Epidemiology PHEP-BFE). She also participated in many research initiatives and projects with international organizations.
