Dr. John Watson is a medical epidemiologist at CDC and leads the Epidemiology Technical Support Unit within the FETP team. He received his MD degree from the Medical University of South Carolina and MSc from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. He practiced Family Medicine prior to joining CDC as an Epidemic Intelligence Service Officer from 2002-2004. From 2005-2013 he served as an epidemiologist with the World Health Organization in Geneva, Switzerland and in Ankara, Turkey. Dr. Watson rejoined CDC in 2013 and has been with FETP since 2020.
