TEPHINET is offering a series of free, virtual talks with experts aimed at increasing the knowledge and skills of FETP trainees, alumni, and staff across a range of public health topics. Registration for this series is held on TEPHIConnect, TEPHINET’s online networking platform for FETP alumni.
The series has hosted two speakers to date. In October, we heard from Basel Karo, an epidemiologist and focal point with the World Health Organization (WHO) Collaborating Centre for GOARN (the Global Outbreak Alert and Response Network) at the Robert Koch Institut in Berlin. Basel shared his experience implementing an Early Warning, Alert and Response System during the Rohingya crisis in Bangladesh.
In July, the series welcomed Richard Klomp, a behavioral scientist at the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), who spoke about the mental health challenges presented by the ongoing COVID-19 response and coping techniques for public health professionals to foster resiliency.
