TEPHINET is planning to hold its next FETP Accreditation workshop for program directors on Sunday, October 27, one day before the 10th TEPHINET Global Scientific Conference. Directors of advanced-level field epidemiology training programs are the target audience for this invitation-only workshop.

During the day-long training, TEPHINET will provide a comprehensive overview of the accreditation process, including the standards and indicators for accreditation, the application cycle and required documentation, and recent changes to the process.

“It doesn’t matter if a program aims to be accredited in one year or five, or whether or not they are already eligible to apply for next year’s cycle. This workshop will teach them what they need to know to reach that goal,” says Lorie Burnett, TEPHINET’s accreditation manager.

TEPHINET accreditation is an opportunity for field epidemiology training programs (FETPs) to align with common standards that support quality training and increased recognition of their value in supporting country public health priorities. Since the launch of the first cycle of accreditation in 2016, the TEPHINET Global Accrediting Body (GAB) has accredited 13 programs. Hear directly from some of these programs about why accreditation is valuable.

TEPHINET will send invitations for the October workshop directly to invitees later this year.
