To say that 2020 was a year to remember would be an understatement. We watched as the world went into lockdown, friends, family and colleagues succumbed to COVID-19, and public health professionals tried to make sense of, and respond to, the first pandemic in over 100 years.
It was a year during which health professionals, and field epidemiologists in particular, were needed more than ever. TEPHINET, like many other organizations, found itself adapting to the new normal and reallocating resources to assist with pandemic response. Thanks to your continued partnership and support, our global network of 75 Field Epidemiology Training Programs (FETPs) was able to rise to the challenge, making critical contributions to surveillance, contact tracing, and testing for COVID-19.
We are proud to share the experiences of our FETP members in our latest annual report, and we hope you will join us in celebrating their efforts to protect communities through disease detection and response.
