Beginning on September 16, 2019, a free Massive Open Online Course (MOOC), “Disease Outbreaks in Low- and Middle-Income Countries,” will run on FutureLearn in English, with translations in Russian, Arabic, French, and Spanish.
This three-week course, organized by the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (LSHTM), covers topics such as outbreak preparedness at the country level and how deployments for response are managed in the field. The course is aimed at public health students and professionals interested in responding to outbreaks globally, and, in particular, those enrolled in training programs or early in their public health careers.
Speakers include representatives from the World Health Organization (WHO), Médecins Sans Frontières (Doctors Without Borders), the Liberian Ministry of Health, the Global Outbreak Alert and Response Network (GOARN), and others.
