Job Description

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Public Health or related
  • Experience with government funded projects, international NGOs, and project management
  • Experience working abroad
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and work-related priorities
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google applications

Primary Responsibilities

Project Management/Oversight

  • Recruiting key consultants for projects and drafting project contracts
  • Tracking the budget, activities, and timelines for several projects at a time
  • Monitoring and reporting on consultant and project progress
  • Managing mini grant awards to overseas residents

Capacity Development/ Knowledge Management

  • Collecting and reporting on data from projects and programs and drafting newsletter articles, papers and presentations from this information
  • Collecting or developing concept papers and assisting in the creation and submission of grant
  • applications
  • Updating the content on TEPHINET project and related web pages at tephinet.org
  • Meeting with donors to discuss activities on epidemiology projects around the world

Conference Support

  •  Coordinating the abstracting process for regional conferences and TEPHINET conferences
  •  Constructing logistical budgets and assisting with logistics and planning for TEPHINET conferences

Other Responsibilities

  • Assists with other general administrative support and tasks as assigned, or as requested
  • Participates fully as a member of the Task Force for Global Health y contributing, assisting and participating in projects, activities, and initiatives as requested by management
  • Manages a project.
  • Coordinates the strategic planning process and monitors progress toward achieving project goals.
  • Assists in developing, administering and monitoring project related budgets.
  • Coordinates logistical arrangements for related conferences, conventions or meetings.
  • May assist in identifying funding resources and in developing funding strategies and initiatives.
  • Develops and generates various operational and statistical reports.
  • Represents and promotes the project at various speaking engagements.
  • May write grants, reports, briefings, newsletters, promotional or other written material related to the project.
  • Performs related responsibilities as required.

TFGH BACKGROUND: The Task Force for Global Health is an Emory University affiliate located in Decatur, GA. Its programs focus on building durable public health systems that serve all people. Focus areas include neglected tropical diseases, vaccines, and health systems strengthening. The Task Force received the 2016 Conrad N. Hilton Humanitarian Prize–the world's largest award of its kind–in recognition of its extraordinary contributions to alleviating human suffering.

TEPHINET BACKGROUND: The principal mission of the TEPHINET is: To strengthen international public health capacity through initiating, supporting, and networking of field-based training programs that enhance competencies in applied epidemiology and public health practice. In addition to this mission, TEPHINET provides administrative and management support to many international public health projects, some of which are related to the field epidemiology training programs. The Project Coordinator will support the activities of TEPHINET by providing programmatic assistance related to the mission and administration of the international projects. 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A bachelor's degree in a related field and three years of related project management experience, or an equivalent combination of experience, education and training.
