Sam McKeever, who recently joined our team to lead our FETP alumni mobilization initiatives, is featured in When Disaster Strikes, a new documentary spotlighting the world of disaster relief and emergency response. Prior to joining TEPHINET, Sam responded to Hurricane Dorian in The Bahamas as part of a team from the Pan American Health Organization/World Health Organization.

How would you describe your experience responding to Hurricane Dorian?

"I was amazed by the efficient and effective coordination, cooperation and communication between all the different national and international organizations and emergency medical teams."

What excites you about your new role at TEPHINET?

"I am excited to continue working towards strengthening the public health workforce internationally with the dedicated team at TEPHINET."

What can FETP alumni get excited about?

"TEPHINET and partners are working not only to provide relevant public health training for FETP alumni, but also develop a comprehensive plan to prepare them to respond effectively and potentially serve as leaders during public health emergencies."
