Seventh EMPHNET Regional Conference on Hold Until Further Notice

In light of the current situation regarding the COVID-19 pandemic in both the Eastern Mediterranean region and the world at large, the Eastern Mediterranean Public Health Network (EMPHNET) has put the Seventh EMPHNET Regional Conference on hold until further notice.

"While we were looking forward to seeing you all at the conference, we assure you that this decision comes after placing your safety and the safety of those around you at the forefront of our priorities," EMPHNET said in a statement on its website. "On a different note, we want to take this opportunity to express our heartfelt appreciation for all FETP residents, graduates, and public health professionals currently playing a role in the global COVID-19 response. We look forward to hearing about their experiences and accomplishments once we do hold our conference."

The EMPHNET conference, originally planned for September 2020 in Jordan, is the latest FETP conference affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. Earlier in April, TEPHINET announced the postponement of the 11th TEPHINET Regional Scientific Conference of the Americas and the 11th TEPHINET Global Scientific Conference. In March, the Epidemic Intelligence Service (EIS) announced the cancelation of its 2020 conference.

As TEPHINET's and our regional FETP network partners' event schedules change, we will keep you informed.
