
Steven Ooi Peng Lim
Director, Singapore Field Epidemiology Training Program
Associate Professor Steven Ooi is a medical doctor and senior consultant epidemiologist who obtained his postgraduate training at the National University of Singapore and the Johns Hopkins University. He is currently the director of the Singapore Field Epidemiology Training Program (FETP) network and associate director for the preventive medicine residency program. Undertaking communicable disease control at the National Center for Infectious Diseases, his interests cover urban health security, outbreak management, and field epidemiology. He has been past deputy director of the Ministry of Health, deputy director of the Institute of Environmental Epidemiology (a World Health Organization collaborating center for environmental epidemiology), and senior assistant commissioner of public health in the Ministry of the Environment.
