Strengthening the One Health Approach in South America

Project Objective

To train FETP residents from programs in South America as One Health Zoonotic Disease Prioritization (OHZDP) facilitators and share with them important and practical experiences in taking a One Health approach to zoonotic disease activities including surveillance and outbreak response. Engaging FETP residents in this process will increase capacity in the region to use a One Health approach to better prevent, detect, and respond to zoonotic diseases, both endemic and emerging threats, as well as related issues at the human-animal-environment interface. It will also strengthen the FETP understanding of zoonotic diseases and using a One Health approach to address or implement zoonotic disease priorities.
