TEPHINET Advisory Scientific Committee

The TEPHINET Secretariat is committed to bringing forward best practices that will help ensure that high quality, scholarly conference content continues to be developed, published and disseminated for the benefit of the global Field Epidemiology Training Program (FETP) community. We believe in a collaborative and cross-disciplinary approach to improving the scientific quality of our conferences. With that aim, TEPHINET has established an Advisory Scientific Committee. The role of the TEPHINET Advisory Scientific Committee (TASC) is to:

  • Ensure that the strategies agreed upon by members to increase the scientific quality of TEPHINET conferences are implemented, monitored, and evaluated.
  • Ensure a good balance of multi-disciplinary material in the scientific programs of our global and regional conferences.
  • Finalize scientific program schedule, recommend guest speakers, review and select oral and poster abstract presentations as well as award nominations.
  • Support the Chair of the Scientific Committee with any tasks and/or decisions as requested.

The TEPHINET Advisory Scientific Committee (TASC) is an advisory body consisting of seven full members and two ad hoc members appointed for a renewable period of two years. The members of this committee reflect a balanced representation of worldwide recognized field epidemiology experts. Collectively, the members of the Advisory Scientific Committee shall have the necessary scientific competencies and expertise needed to make strategic science-based recommendations to the TEPHINET Secretariat. Members participate in the Scientific Committee in their individual capacities and commit themselves to discuss questions put forward and provide advice in their relevant fields of expertise to the best of their ability and in the best interest of the field epidemiology community.
